SECTION 05 SUB-SECTION 04, (ELECTRIC STARTER)
For assembly, follow the disassembly procedure in the reverse order, paying attention to the following: Coat the sliding surfaces and moving portions of the armature splines, overrunning clutch, bushings and the solenoid switch plunger with multipurpose grease (water, climate and coldness resistant)Reinstall the drive lever as illustrated belowDrive lever Overrunning clutch
CLEANING
CAUTION: Armature starter yoke ass'y and drive unit assemblv must not be immersed in cleaning solventClean brushes and holders with clean cloth soaked in solventBrushes must be dried thoroughly with clean clothBlow brush holders clean using compressed airRemove dirt, oil or grease from commutator using clean cloth soaked in suitable solventDry well using clean, dry clothClean engine starter gear teeth and drive unit (clutch)
NOTE: Bearing bushing of the drive unit must not be cleaned with grease dissolving agents
Drive housing
Immerse all metal components in cleaning solutionDry using clean, dry cloth
