CLEANING
Discard all oil seals, gaskets and "0" ringsClean all metal components in non-ferrous metal: cleanerRemove old sealant from crankcase mating surfaces' with Bombardier sealant stripper_ CAUTION: Never use sharp object to scrapeaway old sealant as score marks incurred are detrimental to crankcase sealing
Crankcase halves are factory matched and
therefore, are not interchangeable or available as single halvesPrior to joining of crankcase halves, apply "Loctite 515" (no4137027) on mating surfaces_ 'CAUTION: Before joining of crankcase halves be "sure that crankshaft rotary valve gear is well engaged with rotary valve shaft gearPosition the crankcase halves together and tighten nuts (or bolts) by hand then install armature plate (tighten) on magneto side to correctly align the crankcase halvesTorque nuts to 20 Nom (7 ft-Ibs) and Allen cap screws to 10 Nom (7 ft-lbs) following illustrated sequenceDISASSEMBLYASSEMBLY
