SECTION 02 SUB-SECTION 03 (DRIVE PULLEY)

REMOVAL
With engine cold, remove spark plug(s) then bring P.T.O(Power Take Off) piston at T.D.C(Top Dead Center) positionRotate drive pulley 45 clockwise then insert enough starter rope into cylinder to fill it completely WARNING: Spring pressure can force assembly apart; therefore, it is imperative that the governor cup be held firmly during governor retaining bolt removal
IApply Loctite 242 or equivalent on threads then torque nuts to 14 N-m (10 ft-lbs)_ CAUTION: Do not disassemble counterweight unless replacement is necessaryAs required, maximum of two (Z)Used to obtain neutral function of the drive pulley when engine is idling: refer to INSTALLATION )Used to obtain correct pulley alignment, refer to section 02-05
If necessary to remove fixed half, slide length of steel pipe over shaftAttach with 516" nut and bolt, as illustratedThe fixed half can then be removed with pipe wrench
