MERCO-O-TRONIC 4Connect the black test lead to one of the large terminals of solenoid5Connect the red test lead to other large terminal of solenoid6With 12 volt battery, place two (2) jumper leads on battery postsConnect the positive jumper lead to small terminal of solenoid7 Connect negative jumper lead to solenoid housing and at same time, push-in solenoid plunger until plunger holds itself8The meter pointer must return within the OK blockIf not replace solenoid (fig3-4-17) 3-04-09
1Turn selector switch to position No.32Temporarily attach small black and red test leads together3Turn adjustment knob for scale No.3 until meter pointer aligns with set position on right side of dialUnclip test leads4Connect the small test leads as shown in Figure 3-4-18A normal diode will show HIGH reading in one direction and LOW reading in the opposite directionA zero reading or infinite reading in both tests indicate defective diode and the rectifier must be replacedHIGH
