CARBURETOR

8Using pointed tool, puncture the welch plugsAvoid puncturing the center of the plugPry the welch plugs from the seating (fig2-7-3)
NOTE: On HD carburetor, remove idle speed screw bracket from throttle lever14Remove the two (2) choke shutter screwsOpen choke and pull the shutter from choke shaft15Carefully pull the choke shaft from car buretor bodyRemove choke friction ball and springWARNING: The choke friction ball and spring can "fly out" of the casing, therefore exercise care during removal of the choke shaft16Remove idle mixture screw, spring, washer and packing from carburetor body17On HR carburetor with high speed mixture adjustment, remove screw, spring, washer and packing from carburetor body18On carburetor with fixed jet, remove main fuel jet plug screw and gasketRemove main fuel jet and gasket19On HD carburetor, remove high speed mixture screw, spring, washer and packing from high speed glandRemove gland and gasketUnscrew main fuel jetRemove main fuel jet gasketNOTE: The main fuel jet has L.H.SthreadsTo remove tum in clockwise directionCLEANING CAUT 10 N: Some solvents and cleaners have damaging effect on the synthetic rubber parts of the carburetorIt is best to use petroleum product for cleaningDo not use alcohol, lacquer, acetone, thinner, benzol or any solvent with blend of these ingredients unless the rubber parts and gaskets are removedIf you are in doubt about your solvent, .test used part in it and observe the reaction
