STEERING SYSTEM
1-15-13 4If new steering bushing was required, lubricate with liquid soap and insert the new bushing into holder using an appropriate pusher
NOTE: The free play in the steering column can
be adjusted by inserting .025 inch shim(s) as
required10Position the upper column in location and attach it to the frame using two (2) bolts and washers11Using the "u" clamp, affix the steering column to the upper column12fnsert tie rod end into steering column and secure using spring, washer and new cotter pin (fig1-15-31)
5Insert the steering column into steering bushing6Affix the column in positipn using washer, shim(s) (if applicable), and roll pinNOTE: If free play occurs at steering column, insert .025 inch shim(s) as required7Place the upper column on the two (2) carriage bolts (nearest the seat), and install washers and engine mount nutsEach nut must be torqued to 20-25 ftlb(fig1-15-32)
