1-11-04 2Using 1164 inch dia drill, remove rivets attaching lining to brake shoe BRAKE MECHANISM
4Position cable lock bracket on the brake lever and install bolt and nutFinger tighten nut
INSPECTION 1Visually inspect brake lining for wearRivet heads must be embedded below surface of liningReplace worn liningNOTE: If lining is oil-soaked, check chain case oil seal for correct installation position or damageReplace if necessaryWipe oil from pulley
INSTALLATION
1Attach the brake lever to the chain case bracket using nut and boltTIghten nut until lever pivots freely but all side play is eliminatedHook the brake lever spring into position2Using tight machine oil, lubricate all moving metal parts of brakeWARN INC: Avoid getting oil on brake shoe
2Visually inspect all other components for wear or damageReplace as necessary
