INSPECTION 1Inspect brake lining for wear and oil soakageRivet heads must be embedded below surface of liningReplace worn or oil-soaked liningNOTE: If lining is oil-soaked, check chain case oil seal for correct installation position or damageReplace if necessaryWipe oil from pulley2Check brake spring for distortion
ASSEMBLY 1Prior to Assembly procedure, ensure all components are clean and all defective parts have been repaired or replaced2Using center and flat head punches and hammer, secure the lining to the swivel plate using appropriate rivets (fig1-11-1)Secure rivets using flat head punch
