1-09-04 9Disconnect bl"8ke and throttle cables at ferru le and pivoting Slug of handlebarPull steering column rearwards to provide working space and allow remova of gear box housing10Disconnect transmission rod from gear box by removing cotter pin, spring and washer11Remove eight (8) nuts securing gear box up per housingLoosen housing using soft faced hammer12Release chain tension to maximum slackness
DRIVEN PULLEY
by rotating eccentric tensioner13Place clean cloth beneath chain and in lo wer housing to prevent foreign matter andor components from falling into gear box14Separate chain at connecting link and remo ve cloth15Insert two (2) pieces of wire through chain on each side of double link pins to be removedHook wires to lower housing studs to secure chain ends1-9-11
