DRIVE AXLE '-04-07

16Apply track tension and carry out track alignment procedureINSTALLATION (Alpine and Valmont models) NOTE: The following procedure is applicable to installation of either one or both drive axles of vehicle
1With the rear of vehicle supported off the ground, position drive axle assembly within trackInsert splined end of axle into lower sprocket of gear box2Push the end bearing housing into frame and over bearingSecure housing to frame with three (3) capscrews
3Install oil seals1-4-23

11Install rear hub12Install either the bogie wheel system or slide suspension unit13Remove chain tension releaser tool
NOTE: gap of approximately 116 inch should exist between the end of the bearing housing and the oil seal (fig1-4-23)
4Install rear hub and bogie wheel system14Install access plug on Elan and Olympique
modelsOn aluminum chain case, install cover and cross torque each screw to ftlbs(follow ing sequence shown in figure 1-4-24)On Nordic models equipped with gear box, install drain plug
