CHAPTER TWO

Before rotating track, ensure that track is clearAny tools or other objects on track could be thrown back causing serious injury
aStart engine and rotate track slowlybCheck that track is well-centered and distance between edge of track and link plate is the same on each side (Figure 14)cIf track is not aligned, loosen link plate spring locknut and turn adjuster (on side where track is closer to link plate) clockwise until track is realigneddTighten locknut and recheck track tensionReadjust if necessaryNOTE: Track tension and alignment are interrelatedDo not adjust one without checking the adjustment of the other
Track adjuster bolts

5Remove block from rear of snowmobileSlide Suspension 1Raise rear of snowmobile; block securely2Measure track tension as in Table 23If track tension is incorrect perform the following: aLoosen locknuts on adjuster bolts located inside of rear idler wheels (Figure 15)bTurn adjuster bolts clockwise to increase tension and counterclockwise to release tensioncAdjust track tension to specified valuve and tighten locknuts4Check track alignment as follows:
