Drive and Brake Systems 13Coat the piston thoroughly with new brake fluidEvenly insert each piston into the bores, working each in by hand carefully and slowlyPush each piston down until bottomed out14Reinstall the brake caliper on to the chaincaseTorque fasteners to specification
Brake Disc Replacement
The brake disc should be replaced if the thickness of the disc is below .193"(.49cm)1Remove the chaincase2Slide the brake disc from the jackshaft3Check the jackshaft for any damage4Replace the o-ring on the jackshaft 5Replace the brake disk6Assemble the chaincase
Caliper Mounting Screws: 18-20 ft-lbs (24-27 Nm) 15Inspect both brake pads prior to installationIf they are within the pad wear specification, reinstall into caliper16Install the brake hose using the same routing and orientation noted during removalTorque fitting to specification
