Drive and Brake Systems 5Bleed or replace the fluid by attaching clear hose from the caliper bleeder fitting to clean containerBe sure the hose fits tightly on the bleeder fitting6Pump the brake lever few times and hold7Slowly open the bleeder fitting and let the old fluid or air escape8Pump the brake lever few times and hold it again9Repeat steps and until new brake fluid can be seen coming from the caliper bleeder fitting or if bleeding air, repeat this step until only fluid is seen coming outThis may take several intervals14Field test machine before putting into serviceCheck for proper braking action and lever reserveLever reserve is when the lever is firmly applied, the lever reserve should be no less than 12" (1.3 cm) from the handlebar15Verify that the sight glass indicates full reservoir16Check brake system for any fluid leaks
