Final DriveBrake System Jackshaft Removal
1Follow the procedures for chaincase disassembly2Remove the driven clutch assembly3Remove the oil tankclutch cover assemblyRemove the airbox4Remove the jackshaft flangette screws and nuts or nut plateDiscard the lock Nuts5Carefully pull the jackshaft from the clutch-side of the vehicle out of the chaincaseRemove jackshaft from vehicle
Driveshaft Installation
1From underneath the tunnel, insert the flangette-side of the driveshaft through the bulkhead2Once aligned with the chaincase, carefully insert the spline-end into the lower chaincase hole3Verify the gasket is not damaged or torn4Using new lock nuts, loosely install both the driveshaft and speedometer flangette5Torque the speedometer housing and driveshaft nuts to specifications
Jackshaft Installation
1Carefully insert the jackshaft through the bulkhead and into the chaincase2Using new lock Nuts, install the jackshaft flangetteTorque nuts to specification
Speedometer HousingDriveshaft Nuts: 18 ft-lb (25 Nm) 6Install the driven clutch assemblyTorque driven clutch fastener to specification
