Battery and Electrical Systems TPS Adjustment
NOTE: Always verify the engine idle speed is set at engine operating temperature and the throttle cable freeplay is set to 0.100.30 1Connect the TPS test tool to the TPS2Slightly loosen the screws securing the TPS to carburetor body3Have an assistant hold the throttle flipper in the WOT position4Turn the TPS clockwise to decrease voltage, or counterclockwise to increase voltage5Carefully tighten the TPS screws when the WOT VDC is 4.00VDCNOTE: Always disconnect the volt battery when tool is not in use
Using the TPS Test Tool
1Remove the wiring harness connector from the TPS2Verify the throttle cable is not kinked and the throttle flipper is closedDisconnect the throttle cable from the throttle flipper3Connect the test tool to the TPS4Insert the black multimeter probe into the black terminal port, then insert the red multimeter probe into the yellow terminal port5Reference the specifications to determine if the TPS requires adjustment or replacement6Reconnect the throttle cable with throttle flipper
