Final Drive and Brakes Jackshaft Removal
1Remove the drive belt, and driven clutch2Note of the number and location of the driven clutch spacerswashers3Drain the chaincase lubricant4Remove the chaincase cover5Remove the cotter pin on the upper sprocket6Apply parking brake7Remove the upper sprocket nut8Remove the lower sprocket retaining bolt9Loosen the chain tensioner10Remove the upper and lower sprockets and chain from chaincase11Release the parking brake12Remove the bearing flange on the driven clutch side13Remove the jackshaft assembly from the brake disc and chassis by tapping on the end of the jackshaft with soft face hammer14This will also remove the o-ring and seal15Inspect jackshaft in bearing contact areaIf diameter is 0.001" (.025 mm) less than non-contact area, replace the jackshaft
Driveshaft RemovalInstallation
1234Remove the side panelsRemove the intake plenumRemove the drain plug and drain the chaincase fluidReplace the chaincase drain plug and torque it to ftlb (11 N-m)
