Engine and Cooling Systems Oil Pump Bushing End PlayFuji Engines
When removing the oil pump, always retain the original shims installed between the pump and bushingThese shims can be re-used if the original oil pump and bushing are installed into the engineIf any one of these parts are replaced with new components, the oil pump and pump bore must be measured to determine if shims will be added or subtracted from the assembly1Install oil pump drive gear into crankcaseInstall bushing into boreVerify the bushing is fully seated2Measure from the oil pump mounting surface to the top of the bushingRecord measurement as MEASUREMENT A
MEASUREMENT_ 4Subtract measurement from to determine the total bushing end play5Measure the total thickness of the original shimsSubtract this number from the number obtained in step 4
