Final Drive and Brakes Chaincase Disassembly
1Position the vehicle on level groundDrain the oil out of the chaincase into suitable containerReplace the drain plugRemove the right-side door panel, and exhaust silencerRemove the chaincase coverUn-screw the chain tensioner boltRemove the cotter pin from the upper gear castle nut and discardLock the parking brake, then remove the castle nutRemove the lower gear fastener and washerNote that beveled side of the washer faces outRemove the chain and upperlower gears from the chaincaseRemove the brake caliper from the chaincaseSecure the caliper up and away from the chaincase18Inspect the jackshaft seal sleeve for abnormal wear and tearReplace the ring with new part
