Chassis Electrical System 9When the operator commands the ECU to stop the engine, the ECU opens the ignition coil, then cuts power to the ignition coils, fuel injectors, and fuel pump10The ECU then shuts off the chassis relay, removing power from the lights, power points and turning the alternator off11The ECU then performs an internal shut-down sequence which can last up to two minutesIf the ECU recognizes the Digital Wrench diagnostic software during the shut-down sequence, the ECU will remain powered-up for approximately ten minutes
Power-UpPower-Down Troubleshooting
1Verify the battery is in good condition and chargedDuring engine turnover, the battery voltage should not drop below 11 VdcVerify the fusible links, fuses, circuit breakers, and relays are in good condition and working properlyReplace blown fuse, relay, or fusible link with the specified partDo not substitute fuse with higher-amp-rated fuseVerify all ground wires are connected to the enginechassis and to the batteryTest the continuity between ground wires and the enginechassisResistance should equal approximately (zero) ohmsVerify the ignition key switch works properlyVerify the safety slap switch works properlyVerify the throttle lever (flipper) works properlyCheck all sensor, and electrical component connectionsConnections must be clean, tight and free from damageVerify the fuel tank is at least 18 to 14 fullThe ECU can be "reset" by: Push the safety slap switch down Insert the ignition key, then turn to the "START" positionRelease key Remove the EFI relay from the relay panel Turn the Ignition key to the "OFF" positionInstall the EFI relay3
