CLUTCHING Disassembly and Inspection
1Install drive clutch in clutch compression tool (8700220)Mark both moveable and fixed sheave, cover, and spider with permanent markerCAUTION: Sheaves must be marked to provide reference point for clutch balance and spider indexingIf the sheaves are not marked, and spider shim washers are changed or misplaced, the clutch will be out of balance and must be replacedSee page 5.17 for indexing procedure2Carefully and evenly remove cover attaching boltsDo not allow side loading or misalignment of cover or bushing may be damagedRemember there is spring tension on the coverInspect cover bushing for wearDrive Clutch Compression Tool PN 8700220 Drive Clutch Holding Fixture PN 2871358 3Mount drive clutch securely in the holding fixtureOn models equipped with spider jam nut (PN 2870338) (P-85 Clutches), remove jam nut in counterclockwise direction (standard thread) using the special tool PN 2871358Marks
