MAINTENANCE WaterSediment Trap Maintenance
Most Polaris snowmobiles incorporate patented carburetor bowl watersediment traps which are located at the bottom of each carburetorThe trap consists of hose with plug which should be inspected for contamination every 2000 miles (3200 km)
Cleaning ProcedurePlug
1Turn the fuel tank supply valve off2Position container or shop towels to catch the contaminated gasoline3Slide the clamp (1) away from the drain plug (2) and remove the drain plug from the sediment tube4Wipe off residue from plug and reinstall with clampsContinue until all the traps have been emptied2 1

When draining the traps, fuel spillage will occurBe sure to work in well ventilated area away from anything which may cause the fuel to ignite such as open flames, sparks, heaters, trouble lights, cigarettes, etc
Oil FilterFuel Filter Maintenance
Most models use an oil filter which is of special design and must not be substitutedThis filter should be changed annually or every 1200 miles (1920 km)Inspect oil line condition at 1200 miles (1920 km)
