FUEL DELIVERY Carburetor Disassembly and Inspection
1Remove water trap assembly from float bowl and inspect O-ring, hose and clamp conditionRefer to exploded view corresponding with carburetor being serviced2Inspect enricher (choke) fuel supply passage in bowl for obstruction3Use an automatic center punch to remove float arm pinRemove inlet needle and seat assembly4Inspect needle for wear and replace sealing washers upon reassemblyCAUTION: Do not bend float arm during disassemblySupport tower casting when tapping pin outDo not use excessive force to remove float arm pinThe float pin tower castings are very easily damaged and are not repairable5Remove main jet and washer (or spacer ring) and push needle jet into the slide valve chamber to removeClean air bleed hole in needle jet6Remove pilot jetCAUTION: Wear eye protection when using compressed air or cleaning solventsReview all fuel system warnings found on page NO TAG before proceeding7Remove pilot air screw and clean all passages in the carburetor body with carburetor cleanerDry all passages and jets with compressed airReplace gaskets and any parts which show wear or damage8Reassemble carburetor, adjusting float level before installing float bowl
