DRIVEDRIVEN CLUTCHES Measuring Belt Deflection
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not apply excessive pressure to force belt into driven sheavesThis will result in an improper measurementIf belt deflection cannot be adjusted within specification using methods below, inspect center distance and compare to specifications on page 5.321Measure belt deflection with both clutches at rest and in their full neutral position2Place straight edge on the belt and apply downward pressure while measuring at the point shownBelt Deflection 14 (3.2 cm) Straight Edge 14 (3.2 cm)

Adjusting Belt Deflection (P-90)
1Belt deflection on P-90 clutches is controlled by adding or removing shim washers from between the driven clutch sheavesTo change belt deflection, disassemble clutch as outlined on page 5.342Adjust shim stack between clutches to achieve desired belt deflectionAt least washer must remain between clutch sheaveS Remove washers to decrease belt deflection Add washers to Increase belt deflection 3Reassemble clutch as outlined on page 5.36
