ELECTRICAL Typical Exciter, Pulser or Lighting Coil Replacement 1Remove coil retaining screws and spacers2Using pliers, remove epoxy from solder joints (A) on the coil to be replaced
3Unsolder connection from coil
4Clean solder terminals (B) on the replacement coil and re-solder to their proper wiresNOTE: Always position with numbers towards the outside
5Reinstall retaining screws and spacers6Using moisture-proof sealant, seal solder joints as shownNOTE: All soldering must be done using rosin core solder7Test resistance of each coil prior to stator plate installationNOTE: Lighting and pulseless coils are replaced in similar mannerIMPORTANT: After the stator plate is reinstalled on the engine, check placement of all coil leads to prevent possible contact with the flywheel999
