CLUTCHES Drive Belt Measuring Belt Deflection
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not apply excessive pressure to force belt into driven sheavesThis will result in an improper measurementIf belt deflection cannot be adjusted within specification using methods below, inspect center distance and compare to specifications on page 5.301Measure belt deflection with both clutches at rest and in their full neutral position2Place straight edge on the belt and apply downward pressure while measuring at the point shownBelt Deflection 14 (3.2 cm) Straight Edge 14 (3.2 cm)

Adjusting Belt Deflection (P-85)
Belt deflection can be adjusted without removing the clutch from the jackshaft1Pull belt into driven clutch to slightly open sheaves2Loosen three bolts on adjustment cam3Turn cam counterclockwise to reduce distance between sheavesDo not rotate past #1 position4Torque bolts to specificationOptional Thin Adjustment Washer (P-85) .048PN 7555899 Used to adjust belt tensionOne must always be installed
