1Remove carburetor mount adaptors, reed cages, stuffers, and oil pumpNote position of stator wire guideMeasure air gap between fiber reed and reed block as shownThe air gap should not exceed .015 (.4 mm)If clearance is excessive DO NOT attempt to reverse the reeds to reduce the air gapAlways replace them if damagedCheck each fiber reed for white stress marks or missing materialReplace if necessaryReed Pedal Clearance .015 (.38 mm) maxExaggerated for illustration
