MAINTENANCETUNE UP Brakes WideTrak LX Brake Adjustment
1Check to ensure floating parts move freely and that all other parts are mounted securelyTighten hardware as required2Check actuator linkage to ensure there is adequate freedom of movement for positive brake operationPeriodic adjustment of pad gap can be performed using actuating cable3Loosen lock nutsBracket Lock Nuts

Move cable up or down in bracket to adjust freeplay 4To increase brake lever free play turn nuts counterclockwise to move cable down in bracketTo decrease lever free play move cable up in bracketTighten lock nuts
Brake Lever Free Play 14-38 in(6-10mm)

5If cable adjuster has reached maximum (used up), the lever arm can be re-indexedLoosen lock nuts and turn counterclockwise (as viewed from top) to obtain the maximum amount of cable freeplayStraighten tab on tab washer and loosen bolt enough to disengage actuator lever spline6Slip long leg of lever spring off caliper and rotate to the side7Rotate the lever one tooth in the direction opposite the actuation direction, and tighten bolt making sure spline teeth are properly engaged8Bend up tab aligning with one of the bolt head flats to prevent bolt rotation9Return the spring to its original position on the caliperBoth lever and linkage must be free to return to original position10Perform steps 3and 4to adjust lever freeplay11Verify proper brake operationDisc should rotate freely without drag12Check disc surface conditionRefer to BrakeFinal Drive section to inspect disc and pad condition and thickness999
