CLEANING AND INSPECTING ! NOTE: Whenever part is worn excessively, cracked, or damaged in any way, replacement is necessary
1Inspect the brake pistons for gouges, cracks, pitting, scuffing, or corrosionIf any of these conditions exist, replace the piston2Clean the piston outer surface by using Scotch-Brite pad and clean brake fluid as cleaner

6Remove the caliper assembly from the engine compartmentDISASSEMBLING

! CAUTION
Do not use any sharp cleaning tool on the piston surface as it may cause damageParts-cleaning solvent must not be used as it can damage the piston O-ring
1Position piece of wood between the pistonsUsing low-pressure compressed air, blow into the caliper brake hose fitting to remove the brake pistons
