TRACK AND REAR SUSPENSION

cWorking at the front of the slide shoe, drive the shoe to the rear of the runner (Figure 7)CAUTION If necessary, use block of wood and hammer to drive the wear strips toward the rearDo not use steel punch or the runner may become damaged
5Inspect the slide rail as follows: aClean the slide rail with solvent and dry thoroughlybPlace straightedge along the side of the rail and check for bendsIf slide rail is bent, it must be straightened or replacedIf the bend is severe or if the rail is cracked or damaged, replace itcCheck the slide rail for gouges or cracks along the path of the wear stripSmooth any rough surfaces with file or sandpaper6Install the wear strips as follows:

aGrease the rail surface lightly to ease installationbWorking from the back of the runner, align the front of the wear strip (end with hole) with the rear of the railPush the wear strip onto the railA wooden block and hammer can be used during installation if necessarycContinue to drive the wear strip onto the rail until the screw hole in the wear strip aligns with the hole in the raildInstall the screw, lockwasher and nut, then tighten securely
