34Test operation of the assembled shock as follows: aCompress the shock fullybIf spongy spots are felt while compressing, it indicates air in the oilDisassemble and fill with oil that does not contain any air bubblescWhen released, the shock absorber rod should extend fullyFailure to extend indicates binding or pressure leakagedSubmerge the shock in water to check for nitrogen leaks
31Lubricate the O-ring (28, Figure 24) lightly with oil before installing the valve (29, Figure 24)Tighten the valve securely
NOTE The system should be filled with dry nitrogen gasDo not attempt to fill the shock with air
