166 cRotate the head several times to avoid removing too much material from one sideCheck progress often with the straightedge and feeler gauge (Figure 39)dIf the cylinder head warpage still exceeds the service limit, it will be necessary to have the head resurfaced by machine shop familiar with snowmobile and motorcycle serviceNote that removing material from the cylinder head mating surface will change the compression ratio and clearance of the squish area around the outside edge5On liquid-cooled engines, check the cylinder head water passages for coolant residueClean the passages thoroughly6Wash the cylinder head in hot soap and water and rinse thoroughly before installation
