ADJUSTMENTS FOR SPECIAL USE Rear Suspension (Front Arm Spring Preload)

On some models, the spring for the front arm of the rear suspension is located at the ends of the front arm as shown in Figure 15The spring tension is set at the factory for normal riding conditionsThe initial setting is usually with mm (38 in of threads showing behind the nutChanges may be necessary and can be accomplished by turning the nut (Figure 15) to different position on the eyeboltOn some models, the spring for the front arm of the rear suspension is located on the shock absorber as shown in Figures 16 or 17You can change the spring tension for models with the threaded setting nut (Figure 17) by turning the nut on the threaded body
