CHAPTER THREE

6Start the engine and allow it to idle until it reaches normal temperature7Increase engine speed until it reaches the test rpm listed in Table 9, then briefly point the timing light at the timing inspection hole (Figure 59)The timing light will flash, appearing to stop the timing mark at the instant of ignition8If the ignition timing is correct, the proper flywheel timing mark will be aligned with the housing pointer on the hole9Tum off the engine and lower the snowmobile to the groundRemove the timing light and tachometerInstall any covers that were removed10Ifthe timing marks are not correctly aligned, the ignition timing may require adjustmentRefer to Setting Ignition Timing in this chapter
