98 aLoosen the cable adjuster locknuts (Figure 42)bReposition the cable until the two marks aligncTighten the locknuts and recheck the adjustment7Close and secure the hoodHeadlight Beam Refer to Chapter NineGENERAL INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE Recoil Starter Pull the starter handle (Figure 43) out and inspect the rope for frayingIf its condition is questionable, replace the rope as described in Chapter TwelveCheck the action of the starterIt should be smooth and, when the rope is released, it should return all the wayIf the starter action is rough or if the rope does not return, service the starter as described in Chapter TwelveBody Inspection Damaged body panels should be repaired or replacedBody Fasteners Tighten any loose body boltsReplace loose rivets by first drilling out the old rivet and then installing new oneA pop-rivet tool and an assortment of rivets are available through many hardware and auto parts storesFollow the manufacturer's instructions for installing rivetsWelded joints should be checked for cracks and damageDamaged welded joints should be repaired by competent welding shopDrive Axle Sprockets Drive Assembly
