cHold the housing with the bearing side down and tap the bearing outRepeat for all bearings in the housingdWhile heating up the housing halves, place the new bearings in freezer if possibleChilling them will slightly reduce their overall diameter while the hot housing assembly is slightly larger due to heat expansionThis will make installation much eaSIerNOTE Always install bearings with the manufacturer's mark or number facing outward, unless the text directs otherwise
aThe housing must be heated to temperature of about 100 (212 F) in an oven or on hot plateAn easy way to check to see that it is at the proper temperature is to drop tiny drops of water on the caseIf they sizzle and evaporate immediately, the temperature is correctHeat only one housing at timeCAUTION Do not heat the housing with propane or acetlyene torchNever bring flame into contact with the bearing or housingThe direct heat will destroy the case hardening of the bearing and will likely warp the housing
