ENGINE SERVICING (TVVIN CYLINDER) 28To disengage the piston from the connecting rod, use piston pin extractor (Arctic Part No0144-003) and remove the piston pin from the piston31Crankshaft repair should be limited to end seal and main bearing replacementSeparate the main bearings from the counterweights to allow bearing puller to be installedNOTE: Care should be exercised to prevent misalignment of the crankshaft
Separate the crankcase by removing the ten (10) nuts, lock washers, and flat washers from the bottom of the crankcase and the vertical bolt at the electric start mountWhen all fasteners have been removed, use plastic mallet and tap the end of the crankcase studs
Install the bearing puller (Arctic Part No0144-006) on the crankshaft and remove the main bearingWhen pulling the PTO side bearings, insert spacer between the end of the crankshaft and the bearing pullerNOTE: The crankshaft is factory assembled unit, and therefore, disassembly is not recommendedNo warranty will be allowed on any component of the engine if the crankshaft has been disassembledIf the crankshaft should fail during the warranty period, replace with new factory assembled unit
