Measurement steps: 1Remove the spark plugs and cylinder head coverRefer to "Cylinder head cover removal" in Chapter 52Install the dial gauge needle and special service tools and into spark plug hole #1Gauge stand: 90890-06725 Dial gauge stand set: YB-06585 Dial gauge: YU-0309790890-01252 Dial gauge needle: 90890-06584 3Position piston #1 at TDC by turning the exhaust camshaft sprocket clockwise with the special service toolCamshaft wrench: 90890-06724 4Check that the punch marks on the camshafts are aligned with the alignment marks on the camshaft caps5Measure the intake and exhaust valve clearances for cylinder #1 with the thickness gauge 36Position piston #2 at TDC by turning the exhaust camshaft sprocket an additional 90 clockwise, and then measure the intake and exhaust valve clearances for cylinder #27Position piston #4 at TDC by turning the exhaust camshaft sprocket an additional 90 clockwise, and then measure the intake and exhaust valve clearances for cylinder #48Position piston #3 at TDC by turning the exhaust camshaft sprocket an additional 90 clockwise, and then measure the intake and exhaust valve clearances for cylinder #3
