Section 04 ENGINE MANAGEMENT (1503 4-TEC) Subsection 03 (ADJUSTMENT AND REPAIR PROCEDURES)
All electrical actuators (idle bypass valve, inijectors, fuel pump, ignition coils and starter solenoid) are permanently supplied by the battery when the safety lanyard is installedAlways disconnect the battery prior disconnecting any electrical electronic parts
To perform verifications, good quality multimeter such as fluke 11 (PIN 529 035 868) should be used
Ensure that all electronic components are genuineany modification on the wirtng harness may lead to generate fault codes or bad operaton NOTE: For diagnostics purposes, use B.U.D.SsoftwareSee EMS DiAGNOSTC AND COMMUNKATiON TOOLS subsectionAfter problem has been solvedI ensure to clear the fault(s) in the ECM using the software
Sensor Resistance Measurement
When measuring the resistance wilh an ohmmeter all values are given for temperature of 20 {6gF) The value of resistance varies with the temperatureThe resistance value for usual resistor or windings (such as njectors)increases as the temperature increasesHowever, our temperature sensors are NTC types (Negative Ternpei-ature Coeffkient) and work the opposite which means that the resistance value decreases as the temperature increases, Take it into account when measuring temperatures different from 20 (6gF)Use this table for resistance variation [elative temperature for temperature sensors
