Section 10 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Subsection 03 (CHARGING SYSTEM)
All Models except GTS, GTI and GTX RFI Models Proceed as follows: 1Disconnect the BLACK negative cable first2Disconnect the RED positive cable last3Remove the vent line from the battery4Remove the holding strap(s)5Withdraw battery from watercraft being careful not lean it so that electrolyte flows out of vent elbowGTS, GTI and GTX Series Remove M6 bolts retaining seat support and remove upper section from watercraft
CAUTION: Should any electrolyte spillage occur, immediately wash off with solution of baking soda and water
Cleaning
Clean the battery casing, caps, cables and battery posts using solution of baking soda and waterCAUTION: Do not allow cleaning solution to enter batteryRemove corrosion from battery cable terminals and battery posts using firm wire brushRinse with clear water and dry well
Inspection
Visually inspect battery casing for cracks or other possible damageIf casing is damaged, replace battery and thoroughly clean battery tray and close area with water and baking sodaInspect battery posts for security of mountingInspect for cracked or damaged battery caps, replace defective caps
