Idle Speed Screw
Turning screw no15 clockwise increases engine idle speed and turning screw counterclockwise decreases engine idle speedNOTE: To adjust idle speed, ensure flame arrester and air intake silencer are installedStart engine and bring to normal operating temperatureCAUTION: If watercraft is out of water, engine must be cooled using the flush kitTurn screw so that engine idles at 1500 RPM in water or 3000 RPM out of water

All Engines Ensure throttle cable is properly adjusted and idle speed is set at 1500 RPM for the 717 engines and 1400 RPM for the 947 engines in waterWith the engine not running, loosen adjustment screw lock nutUse feeler gauge between lever tab and pump plungerTurn adjustment screw to achieve approximately 0.050.15 mm (.002.005 in) gapTighten adjustment screw lock nut1
