Leakage Test
If direct injector leaks through its large top O-ring, there will be an airfuel leak between the injector and the airfuel railReplace O-ring of both injectorsIf there is an injector internal leak, the high temperature from the combustion chamber will make visible overheated areaReplace damaged components
Disconnect direct injector connector then pull injector out of cylinder headElectrical Test
Using the vehicle communication kit (VCK) with the B.U.D.Ssoftware, energize the direct injector in the Activation sectionIf the injector does not work, disconnect the plug connector from the injectorInstall temporary connector to the injector with wires long enough to make the connection outside the bilge and apply voltage (12 V) to this test harnessThis will validate its mechanical and electrical operationIf it does not work, replace the direct injectorOtherwise, check the resistance of the direct injector circuitReconnect the injector and disconnect the AMP plug connector number on the MPEMUsing multimeter, check resistance value between terminals as followsCOMPONENT Direct injector MAG Direct injector PTO CONTACT LOCATION and 15 and 21
