Loosen gear clamp no11 holding boot, then carefully pull boot and carbon ring no8 from hull insert
Carbon Ring
Loosen gear clamp no9 then pull carbon ring from boot no10INSPECTION
Drive Shaft
Inspect condition of drive shaft and PTO flywheel splinesInspect condition of grooveWith your finger nail, feel machined surface of drive shaftIf any irregular surface is found, renew drive shaftF01J15A
MEASURING DRIVE SHAFT DEFLECTION 1Dial gauge 2V-blocks
Visually inspect shape of dampers no13 for deformation or other damage
