Section 10 PROPULSION SYSTEM Subsection 02 (JET PUMP)
Check oil level, it should be at bottom of hole threadsIf oil level is low, check impeller shaft housing for leaksA pressure test must be performedSee PUMP PRESSURIZATION in this subsectionTo check oil condition, insert wire through oil level hole then withdrawA whitish oil indicates water contaminationThis may involve defective impeller shaft seal andor O-ring of housing coverJet pump unit should be overhauled to replace sealIf everything is correct, apply Loctite pipe sealant (PN 293 800 018) on plug threads and reinstall it on coverProperly reinstall removed parts
Remove plug from coverPour oil through hole until oil reaches the bottom of hole threadsUse SEA-DOO JET PUMP SYNTHETIC OIL (PN 293 600 011) onlyOil will drain slowly into center area of housing, wait few minutes and readjust oil levelCAUTION: This is synthetic oilDo not mix with mineral based oilDo not mix oil brandsApply Loctite pipe sealant (PN 293 800 018) on plug threads and reinstall it on coverProperly reinstall removed parts
