Electrical Box
The high amperagevoltage components are located into the electrical boxThe electrical box is located at the rear of the watercraft
With this DC-CDI system, the ignition timing can be checked with either the engine hot or coldAlso, the ignition timing is to be checked at 3500 RPM with the timing lightNOTE: Between 3000 and 4000 RPM, the spark advance does not changeSo when checking ignition timing at 3500 RPM, change in engine speed within 500 RPM will not affect the timing mark when checked with the timing light
Static Test
1Disconnect MAG side spark plug wire and connect wire to grounding device then remove spark plugCAUTION: Never crank engine with spark plugs removed unless spark plug cables are connected to the grounding device2Remove PTO flywheel guard3Remove middle screw securing the engine to the rear engine mountReinstall screw with timing mark pointer tool
