Using multimeter, check resistance value between terminals as followsCOMPONENT Direct injector MAG Direct injector PTO CONTACT LOCATION and 15 and 21
NOTE: thin film of injection oil may be applyed to carbon dam if necessary to ease insertion in cylinder headReconnect electrical connectorThe resistance should be between and 1.6 If resistance value is correct, try new MPEMRefer to MPEM replacement procedures elsewhere in this sectionIf resistance value is incorrect, repair the wiring harnessconnectors between AMP plug connector and direct injectorDirect Injector Replacement IMPORTANT: Do not remove direct injector needlesslyThey are sealed with carbon dam that may expand when pulled outA special tool is required to compress it prior to reinstallingOtherwise, sealing efficiency might be affectedRemove airfuel rail retaining screwsPartially lift rail to allow direct injector removalDisconnect direct injector connector then pull injector out of cylinder head1
