Fuel Injector
When one fuel injector is defective, both have to be replaced as an assembly with the airfuel railTesting the fuel injector operation can be performed with the airfuel rail installedLeakage Test The leakage test is validated when performing the FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC FLOW CHART elsewhere in this sectionElectrical Test Safety lanyard must be on DESS postUsing the vehicle communication kit (VCK) with the B.U.D.Ssoftware, energize the fuel injector from the Activation sectionIf the injector does not work, disconnect the plug connector from the injectorInstall temporary connector to the injector with wires long enough to make the connection outside the bilge and apply voltage (12 V) to this test harnessThis will validate the injector mechanical and electrical operationIf it does not work, replace the airfuel rail assemblyOtherwise, check the resistance of the fuel injector circuitReconnect the injector and disconnect the AMP plug connector number on the MPEMUsing multimeter, check resistance value between terminals as followsCOMPONENT Fuel injector MAG Fuel injector PTO CONTACT LOCATION and 13 and 14
