Section 09 PROPULSION SYSTEM Subsection 02 (JET PUMP)
Rotate impeller remover tool counterclockwise and unscrew completely impellerCAUTION: Never use any impact wrench to loosen impellerTo remove impeller, apply rotating movement and pull at same timeSlide impeller out of housingRemove tool from impeller
After cutting ring, insert screwdriver blade between jet pump housing and ring outside diameterPush ring so that it can collapse internallyPull ring out
Impeller Shaft
Remove shaft holder toolRemove impeller shaft no24 with thrust washer and thrust bearing
Wear Ring
NOTE: On the models with the large pump (947 engine), remove the screws retaining wear ring in the jet pump housingPlace jet pump housing in vise with soft jawsIt is best to clamp housing using lower earCut wear ring at two placesCAUTION: When cutting ring, be careful not to damage jet pump housingNOTE: Wear ring can be cut using jigsaw, small grinder or low clearance hacksaw such as Snapon HS3 or equivalent
