To check ignition timing, use Bombardier timing light (PN 529 031 900)

1Timing light pick-up
717 Engine NOTE: To perform this procedure, make sure to use stroboscopic timing light rated up to 6000 RPMOtherwise, an inaccurate reading will be obtainedThe ignition components are affected by temperature variation, therefore, timing must be checked when engine is cold, after idling for MAXIMUM of 20 seconds1Connect an induction-type tachometer (PN 529 014 500) to spark plug wire
3Start engine and point timing light straight in line with timing tool slotBring engine to 6000 RPM1
