Rotary valve must be set so that timing occurs as follows:
TIMING ENGINE 717 787 OPENING BTDC 147 147 CLOSING ATDC 65.5 63.5 5
For the following instructions, let's use these specifications as example: OPENING: 147 BTDC CLOSING: 65 ATDC Proceed as follows: Turning crankshaft, bring MAG side piston to Top Dead Center using TDC gauge1

OPENING MARK StepBottom of MAG inlet portAlign 360 line of degree wheel StepFind 147 on degree wheel and mark here
NOTE: Do not rotate the crankshaft For closing mark, first align 360 line of degree wheel with TOP of MAG side inlet portThen, find 65 line on degree wheel and mark crankcase at this point1
