Section 07 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM (INSTRUMENTS AND ACCESSORIES)

If motor seems to jam and it has not reached the end of its stroke, the following test could be performedFirst remove motor, refer to PROPULSION SYSTEM 08-05Then manually rotate worm to verify VTS system actuating mechanism for free operationConnect motor through 15 fuse directly to the batteryConnect wires one way then reverse polarities to verify motor rotation in both waysIf VTS actuating mechanism is correct and the motor turns freely in both ways, VTS module could be defective
VTS Control Module
SPX, GSI, GSX and XP Models It receives its current from the batteryIt is protected by its own 7.5 fuseRESISTANCE TEST Disconnect BROWNBLACK wire and BROWNWHITE wire of VTS control moduleCon nect test probes of an ohmmeter to BROWNBLACK wire and BROWNWHITE wire of VTS control moduleNOTE: To permit VTS actuation when engine is not running, remove safety lanyard from switch and depress startstop button to activate timerPush on VTS switch down position until motor stopsRead the resistance on the ohmmeter, it should indicate resistance of 24 ohms 1Push on VTS switch up position until motor stopsRead the resistance on the ohmmeter, it should indicate resistance of 167 ohms 1RESISTANCE () 167 NOZZLE POSITION UP
